Though it’s a bit of a different February to usual this year in Val d’Isere, with the lifts closed and no UK holidaymakers allowed into France, there are still a wide range of fun activities and events on offer for those lucky enough to be able to get to Val d’Isere.  These include:

Ski touring equipment testing –  you can get to test out the latest skis and skins from the renowned Dynastar and Freebird brands

Power walking  – small group guided sessions with a coach from the Aquasport centre

Ski touring race ‘Avaline Trax’ – Starting at La Daille and finishing at La Folie Douce, prizes on offer for the timed races!

Morning gym class – small group outdoor exercise class with a coach from the Aquasport centre

Airboard – Bodyboarding on snow, steered by weight transfer. This  offers the exceptional sensation of flying over the snow. You can try out this free activity to music on the Savonnette nursery slope. For adults and kids aged 9 and over.

Human curling  – On the airboard, your team mate will launch you along the slope and try to hit the target. You can try out this new, fun game to music on the Savonnette slope.

Snow golf – Using specially adapted golf balls, the aim is to reach a target with help of traditional golf clubs. In this winter version, you can try out fun challenges then play on a course on snow

Guided tour of Le Fornet – In the highest village of the Tarentaise region a heritage guide and an inhabitant of the village will each play out their part in telling the tale of life at 1 900m. Led by a local heritage guide from the Facim Foundation with the participation of Christelle Bonnevie.

There are also ice sculptures to admire, the chance to have a go at drawing and sculpting on snow, an E-bike race, musical entertainment and market days. There’s more to Val d’Isere than skiing!
