Le Grizzly is a gorgeous 2-bedroom property, stunningly decorated and with everything you need for a perfect base for your holiday. It’s also got a great location at the edge of the old village of Val d’Isere, and just a five-minute walk from the hustle and bustle of the resort centre. There’s a free shuttle bus that ferries you to the ski lifts and town centre, and the bus stop is only 50m away. Le Fornet is also very easily accessible, for great skiing and some of the best off-piste, as well as the Michelin-starred restaurant L’Atelier d’Edmond.

There are also two fantastic restaurants right on your doorstep.  La Mourra restaurant is suitably slick and stylish, with an air of relaxed elegance and a bar designed to mimic the mountain outside. The menu fuses Japanese and French classics: expect buttery chicken gyoza, assorted sushi and beef with truffle and wasabi. It’s a real special occasion destination.

L’Avancher restaurant offers more traditional mountain fare, including homemade starters, selected meats, a number of different fondues and the iconic “Raclette à l’ancienne”: delicately scorched under the central oven and served straight onto your plate, as tradition requires – they are the only restaurant to offer this dish. They also have a welcoming bar with a fireplace in the lounge that’s open until midnight.

If spas are your thing then just a few steps away is the Health Spa Les Bains du Montana in the heart of the 5-star Chalet Skadi. You’ll love the calm harmonious atmosphere and contemporary decor. It’s open every day from 10am to 12pm, and then from 3pm to 7.45pm.  Plunge into the heated indoor swimming pool and rejuvenate your body in the sauna and hammam, wonderful after a day spent on the pistes. They also offer a wide range of massage and beauty treatments. For non-residents there is a charge of €20 per adult / €10 per child to use the spa facilities, but this is waived if you book any of the treatments.

This really is a great area of Val d’Isere, and a fabulous apartment to stay in for an unforgettable ski holiday!
