What:  Earth day organised by Ecomove

Why: To clean up the mountain and raise environmental awareness

The 20^th July was the 15th edition of the local Earth Day organized by “Ecomove” Programme. The aim of the day is to clean the mountain of litter and raise public awareness of the damage caused by littering on the mountain. Every year an area is cleaned by an enthusiastic group of local volunteers. The day started with litter collection in the morning followed by a free meal at midday and finished by sorting the litter into recyclable/non-recyclable in the afternoon. Kelly, Ed and the kids got involved and had a great day in the sunshine with the rest of the team of volunteers. There were live bands throughout the day and activities and stands promoting environment protection. It was a fabulous day out for everyone, with the added bonus of helping the community and the environment!
