Summer hiking at Lac d’Ouillette & Le Manchet
Looking for the ideal walk to enjoy a quiet picnic and a chance to relax in a lounger? Head for Ouillette lake, a beautiful spot set 2,500 metres above sea level on the Solaise mountain! You can reach it by car via the Iseran Pass, or by taking the Solaise gondola lift. It’ll take you about 45 minutes to walk around the lake. After stretching your legs, make yourself comfortable on the terrace of the Ouillette restaurant to enjoy delicious grills while gazing at the uninterrupted panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
From there you can escape on the trail leading from Ouillette lake to the Manchet valley, for a walk of about 1 hour 40 minutes, where you can stop at the Arsellaz farm for a delicious break along the way. Down in the valley, the children can enjoy all sorts of activities at the sports park and you can admire the majestic scenery from the sunny terrace of the restaurant “Au bout du monde”. To return to the village, you can either walk (20 minutes) or take the bus.
