Try a microlight flight with Marine Air Sport

What: Microlight flights over Val d’Isere

Why: An adventurous way to see the mountains

Where: Flights start from the top of Bellevarde

When: Throughout the winter season (on fine days)

For the real adventure-seekers who want to try something a little bit different on their ski holiday, why not take a trip on a microlight – a two seat fixed-wing aircraft that is both reliable and powerful. The invention of these lightweight aircraft stemmed from the popularity of hang gliding in the late 70’s and have become incredibly popular in recent years for those seeking affordable powered flight.

You will be left with an amazing aerial memory of Val d’Isere that few people will get to experience. You will feel the wind on your face, the turbulence and all the sensations of flying, whilst admiring the spectacular views of the mountains from above. If you are thinking about going flying, it is best to pick a sunny day with very little wind, for the optimum experience.

For the flight itself, it’s a good idea to dress warmly. Wear your ski gear, and do not hesitate to bring an extra layer or two. Although we are experiencing some spring skiing conditions right now, it can get very cold that high up in the air!

If you are afraid of heights and flying, this activity might not be suited for you. However, these flights won’t make you sick, even if you suffer from vertigo or airsickness. Plus, if you just focus on the amazing views, the butterflies will quickly disappear. This activity is accessible for all ages and all physical abilities, even for those with reduced mobility.

Run review:

Club des Sports – a rolling blue run good for the morning warm-up. Often closed due to avalanche risk. Some good skiing with fresh snow.
